About the Natural Products Laboratory
RIC Pro-Akademia's Natural Products Laboratory specializes in the following R&D areas:
- Extraction and isolation of target chemical compounds from natural resources, including in particular medicinal plants
- Chemical analysis of target compounds in complex mixtures, including extracts containing primary (e.g. sugars, amino acids or fats) and secondary (e.g. flavonoids) metabolites using spectrophotometric and other methods
- Microbiological tests, including antimicrobial activity analyses
- Development and testing new food and drink products
- Development and testing of new natural products for the medical, cosmetic and agri-food sectors
