Reliable data on biomass quality: crucial information for the biofuel market
Research and Innovation Centre Pro-Akademia has launched a project aimed at strengthening research into the quality of biomass and solid biofuels: ‘Institutional strengthening of laboratories for better mission fulfilment and financial stability’.
Thanks to this initiative, the availability of accurate and independent testing of pellet and briquette quality will be increased. This will benefit not only consumers, but also public administration, courts, businesses, non-governmental organisations and scientific partners who require reliable data for decision-making or dispute resolution.
As part of the RIC Pro-Akademia project, we are continuing to develop our biomass research, whilst supporting the development of sustainable energy, the bioeconomy and the circular economy. Our Research Laboratory will be prepared to operate in accordance with the requirements of the ISO/IEC 17025 standard, which will improve the quality of processes, enhance the team’s expertise and increase the reliability of research results.
As part of these activities, we plan to implement the ISO/IEC 17025 management system, purchase new testing standards and submit an application for accreditation to the Polish Centre for Accreditation. All this will enable us to provide more effective support to various stakeholders in need of objective data on biomass and solid biofuels.
Thanks to the project, we will enhance RIC Pro-Akademia’s capacity to act as an independent expert resource operating at the interface between science, administration, the market and society.
