EcoReadyMasuria workshops: Agricultural policy and the future of farming in Masuria

12-11-2025

We cordially invite you to participate in the workshop "From Field to Agricultural Policy: Collaboratively Shaping the Future of Masurian Agriculture" taking place on December 1, 2025 (Monday) at the Municipal Cultural Center in Kowale Oleckie - Library Branch in Sokółki. The workshops will be held from 9:45 AM to 1:30 PM.

During this event, participants will have the opportunity to review the recentresearch findings and field tests from the EcoReadyMasuria Living Lab. The studies highlight how local products such as barley, corn, red clover, sunflower, and milk can form the basis of resilient food systems in the Masuria region and beyond.

The workshops will present an opportunity to collaboratively identify key needs, barriers, and recommendations for agricultural policy. This enables farmers, researchers, and advisors to genuinely influence the future of the Common Agricultural Policy.

A representative from the Warmian-Masurian Agricultural Advisory Center will introduce the existing support options for farmers within eco-schemes, which could be particularly valuable for practitioners in the agricultural sector.

Participants will also have the chance to learn about upcoming changes in the EU's agricultural and environmental policies, which will be in effect from 2028 to 2034.

One of the highlights of the program will be the awarding of EcoReadyMasuria Demonstration Farms, which have tested adaptive practices in 2025. The event will conclude with a communal lunch and networking, promoting the exchange of experiences between farmers and experts. The meal will be prepared by the "Sokółczanki" Women's Association, known for their traditional Masurian flavors.

The workshop is organized as part of the project "EcoReadyMasuria – Masurian Living Lab Eco-Ready: Co-developing Resilient Food Systems for Central and Eastern Europe" and will be facilitated by specialists from various institutions, including Research and Innovation Centre Pro-Akademia, University of Warsaw, Local Action Group - Leader in EGO, and Mirosław Gontar's Farm.
