From 2011 to 2019, the quarterly had one Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Ewa Kochanska; in 2020 this role was taken over by Dr. Rafal Lukasik (Portugal), who is collaborating with Prof. Igor Matyushenko (Ukraine), the Managing Editor.

Even though Acta Innovations is an international journal, Polish scientific community as the one being the closest to the Publisher, has been using Acta Innovations as a publishing channel most actively. Authors from Poland have been receiving ratings under the national science evaluation system for publishing articles in Acta Innovations since 2013. This rating has grown from 6 points, through 8 points up to 20 points as of 2019, which has demonstrated the growing recognition of the journal by the public research funding bodies in Poland.

2015 was an important year of changes in the journal’s publishing practices. Since July 2015 Acta Innovations has been issued exclusively in English, while since June 2015, the journal has been co-issued also by the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, one of the important international research partners of the Publisher. This step has opened new channels for further internationalisation of the journal.

From the outset, all articles have been published through Open Access. This approach has made Acta Innovations a unique platform for publishing reviewed scientific papers. The Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education has been an important contributor to this publishing practice, which has provided the Publisher with financial support for the journal since 2016 under three development grants.
