We support modernisation of public buildings to a nearly zero-energy standard

11-10-2019

Representatives of RIC Pro-Akademia took part in the FEEDSCHOOLS project meeting in Prague on October 9-10. The meeting was devoted to discussing the state of the development of a toolkit supporting the modernization of existing buildings, in particular public ones, to the nearly zero-energy standard (NZEB). According to the amended in 2018 Directive 2010/31/EU, each Member State shall facilitate the cost-effective transformation of existing buildings into nearly zero-energy buildings by 2050. In addition, beginning from January 1, 2019, all new public buildings meet NZEB requirements. In the FEEDSCHOOLS project, we develop a set of applications that will allow employees of municipal offices and schools to assess what technical measures should be implemented in the building, how to finance them, and what the ecological effect of these activities will be. The tool will also allow searching for the best practices in the field of NZEB already implemented in Central European countries.

More information about the project can be found on the project website.
