Abstract

The article presents the NIMBY syndrome as a type of a local conflict, taking into account the stage of development of the phenomenon, its levels and methods of mitigation. NIMBY syndrome is described as a conflict affecting the lives of local communities, referring to classical concept of conflict. The article covers also an analysis of investments in renewable energy sources as potentially threatened by NIMBY syndrome.
